Directors Choice Movie

Directors Choice Description: "Chaplin, Critical Care, and The Crying Game.

"Chaplin
Directed by Sir Richard Attenborough and starring Robert Downey Jr. and an extraordinary cast, Chaplin is a loving, grand scale portrait of the Little Tramp's amazing life and times. His poverty-stricken childhood in England comes to life, along with his friendships with Mack Sennett (Dan Aykroyd) and Douglas Fairbanks (Kevin Kline), his many wives and scandalous affairs, and his relentless pursuit by J. Edgar Hoover. Chaplin in the larger-than-life story of the actor behind the icon and a stunning depiction of a bygone era when Hollywood was at its most glamorous.

"Critical Care
Dr. Werner Ernst (James Spader) is an overworked intern who only wants what is best for his elderly, comatose patient - until he falls for the ailing man's beautiful daughter Felicia (Kyra Sedgwick). The seductive Felicia has ten million reasons to let her father "die with dignity," while her deeply religious sister has her own motives for keeping him alive. Caught between passion and duty, Werner descends into a moral mine field where the physician's god-like powers of life and death depend not on knowing right from wrong... but having the courage to choose.

"The Crying Game
The Crying Game is the unpredictable, unconventional, multi-Oscar-nominated masterpiece that has become the sleeper hit of the year. Starring Stephen Rea and Miranda Richardson as Irish terrorists, Forset Whitaker as their hostage, and Jaye Davidson as Whitaker's exotic girlfriend, the film is a haunting, humorous and shocking romantic thriller. Never has a motion picture undermined viewer expectations so thoroughly and enjoyably."
