Crimes and Misdemeanors Movie

Crimes and Misdemeanors Description: "CRIMES AND MISDEMEANORS is a film humanity. It's about people's lives, their loves, their perceptions and ideals. It's about the choices we make and how those choices affect us. And while it offers a bold, unflinching look at some of the most disturbing questions surrounding human nature, it does so with warm, generous and often humorous perspective.

"Judah Rosenthal (Martin Landau) is a wealthy opthamologist, revered as a piliar of society. But his world begins to crumble around him when his mistress of many years (Anjelica huston) threatens to expose their affair and Judah's questionable financial deals to his loving, unsuspecting wife (Claire Bloom). Desperate, he seeks the advice of both his brother Jack (Jerry Orbach) who has dubious ties to the mob and one of his patients, Rabbi Ben (Sam Waterston)- who is going blind. Jack suggests that the problem be taken care of "permanently" while the Rabbi tells Judah he should come clean in the eyes of God and take a chance and tell his wife. Judah doesn't take any chances - and he chooses to get rid of Dolores.

" Across town, the Rabbi's sister (Joanna Gleason) has all but divorced her financially-failed filmmaker-husband, the hapless Cliff Stern (Woody Allen). Cliff, a conscientious artist whose benevolent efforts include films on toxic waste and starvation, takes on one project just for the money: a television segment oh his pompous TV producer/brother-in-law Lester (alan Alda). While Cliff sees his move as "selling out" he has no moral qualms about making a different kind of move on the show's pretty producer, Hally Reed (Mia Farrow). His advances as a married man cause her to retreat and she runs into the arms of Cliff;s number one enemy.

" In this, his 19th film, Woody Allen presents a fascinating tapestry of interwoven relationships played against a colorful Manhattan setting. Hailed by critics everywhere, CRIMES AND MISDEMEANORS offers astonishing performances from an all star cats and could be Allen's best film to date.
